YHM helps lawful permanent residents (LPR) integrate into American society by providing Citizenship resources and training to support immigrants through the naturalization process; promote civic integration and inclusion; build community capacity for prepping immigrants for citizenship.
Ways We Work
Informational Sessions
YHM team of professionals and partnering organizations host informational sessions, create toolkits, offer community support to families concerning immigration and citizenship instruction programs to explain the naturalization process, and describe the available citizenship education and awareness resources.
We do our best to keep our ears to the ground so that we stay in the know. YHM is always looking for community leaders and industry experts to lead informational sessions related to home ownership, college success, ELA & ESL, finance, entrepreneurship, and health and wellness.
Capacity Building & Partnerships
YHM works to establish and maintain ongoing partnerships with DHS/USCIS,community-based organizations, educators, parents, students, and other stakeholders at all levels of education.
YHM offers webinars, curates educational material based on our stakeholders' feedback, and provides recommendations from the USCIS to build an inclusive alliance that eliminates fear and other barriers that may prevent individuals from accessing naturalization services.
Application Prep & Support
YHM offer citizenship preparation services to LPRs. We identify, implement, and share best practices in citizenship preparation; increase the use of and access to technology in citizenship preparation programs; work with local libraries and museums which serve as vital resources for immigrant communities; and incorporate strategies to foster welcoming communities as part of the citizenship and civic integration process.
We provide ongoing integration services to LPRs who have entered the United States.
